This months challenge is Heartstrings paper pack, brought to you by the new Seasonal Expressions, hand picked from Nancy Klein.

If you came from Nancy's Blog then you're in the right place, this is a go around blog hop so you can start anywhere! Just in case, the full list will be at the bottom. So, as always, grab your coffee, tea, water, relax, and hop around the team with us.

This month choice was cute and super fun. We don't make Valentines Day a big deal in our house, we don't usually send out cards or go for dinner, exchange anytime, but this year i wanted to do something different. I decided to make a coupon book for my hubby and i need a cute package to keep it in. This is what i came up with.

A super cute mail box:

The base of the mail box was cut out at 3.14" from the Artiste collection and the cute apple was cut 2" from Create a Critter. I used Heartstrings paper pack with the compliments and an older flower embellishments from the retired Frosted series back last year.

This is the other side of the mail box and when it is closed.

Each scroll with have a coupon written on it. It will be a fun gift for couples.

Thanks for joining us this month and come back next month to see what creative projects we can bring to you! Thank you for stopping by and please feel free to leave a comment.

This months challenge is Showhaven paper pack, brought to you by the new Annual Inspirations, hand picked from Nancy Klein.

I love love love this paper pack!! I have not had a chance to use it enough so i was excited to make a layout that will be ready to go when i get the pictures printed. The will be from the Calgary Zoolights.

I used the Art Philosophy, Artbooking cricut cartridges for the handy images and the layout is from the Magic program book with my twist on it. I love glitter and this layout has it on the snowflake boarder, the ornament and some on the reindeer. The flowers were already made but the blue ones were dyed with glacier reinker, rubbing alcohol and a spray pen.

A close up of the bundle. I spayed some dots from the spay pen to add visual interest until i can get the pictures added. The ornament was cut at 10", the middle cut out was 8" the bundle up title is at 11" from the artbooking.

Weekend Retreat!

I really wish i could go to these once a month :-) they are fun amazing and i get soooo much done! Just a few short weeks ago i attended Nancy's in the beautiful town of Canmore ( i would totally move there in a second)

I was able to get 4 layout finished as well as visiting with some wonderful and fun ladies. I met 2 of my readers (they always make me blush)

I scheduled 4 posts about this but totally ran out of time so today you will get to see all 4 of them as well as the secret project Nancy designed for us. It is a wicked idea! One that i will use every year!

Take a look at these layouts, send me your comments..i LOVE to hear from you.

!st layout a now retired paper pack Jubliee (my favorite one) This is at the Calgary Corn Maze I stayed up to 12.30am to finish this...it was a must a tell ya.

No special techniques, pretty simple layout. The pigs are colored the same way they are at the corn maze, they race them and it is one of our favorite things to see there. The Colonial white flag is a great place for me to add my journal notes.

This is the main embellishment on this next layout. I use sponges to add color, used a black pen for fake stitching and then after i attached them i used Liquid glass all over the blue parts. It took a little while to dry but it came out great!

I used artbooking for the honey comb overlay and a wicked stamp set that fits just perfectly in the blue over lay. The kraft over lay was a bit tighter fit but it worked out. The odd 3 blank rectangles are just for my journal notes.

One of my favorite places in Calgary is Heritage park. This place is amazing and we never get the whole park done in 1 day. I captured a few sneak peek to put in this layout. I will add more layouts soon. I really distressed the edges (always fun to rip paper)

Last layout of the weekend turned out pretty cool. I made each element with the artiste from the chip board poker chips to the ace of spades card. Too much fun!!

This also was at Heritage park in the fun saloon. I added a little retired paper under the poker title. The back pages are from the basic fundamentals. I LOVE LOVE these paper packs. I will have a very fun Rainbow greeting card class at the end of this month. $30 for 10 brightly colored cards to keep you a head of the game :-)

This is the awesome project from Nancy klein. This is what i went home with and a still full pack of coordinating chip board pieces.

What Nancy recommend is to stick your timeless recipes and pictures of the foods and family and keep adding to it every year. I will do that and i will start just as soon as i use my Studio J to print out my odd sized pictures. They are on sale right now and they are giving away golden tickets!!! I really want one so i can just frame it. I love everything CTMH. Click here for more info

Thank you for reading and i hope you have a wonderful day!! Stay tuned soon for another blog post featuring my favorite layouts. Also i am looking for some ladies for a monthly scrapbook club.

November's HWBH

Welcome to the Hearts of the West team blog hop!

If this is your first time joining us you will love it. It features Close to my hearts Consultants from all over Canada showing you their projects. The hearts of the west team was founded by Nancy Klein.
This months challenge is Yuletide paper pack, brought to you by the new Annual Inspirations, hand picked from Nancy Klein.

If you came from Nancy Klein's Blog then you're in the right place, this is a go around blog hop so you can start anywhere! Just in case, the full list will be at the bottom. So, as always, grab your coffee, tea, water, relax, and hop around the team with us.

This year's Close to my Hearts Seasonal cardstock is outstanding. This Yuletide paper pack is a wonderful traditional Christmas with rich color and and modern enough that you could certainly use most of this paper through out the year.

I chose to make a scrapbook layout (since it is my favorite thing to make). Guess what? There is ZERO stamping on here....I am not sure if i am ok with that yet..maybe tomorrow? Maybe when i add pictures after Christmas this year?

I use the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge at 3/4" for the title and the Artiste Cricut Cartridge for the super cute bow and i believe i cut that at 1 1/2" The layout is from the Magic program book with a twist of course ;-)
The green strip will hold 4 2x2" pictures.

Quick tip for ya all, use Studio J to get the odd sized photos for the awesome layouts you would like to recreate. Next Month we are having a massive Studio J sale and you will want to get them ready.

Other then the title this paper is shown exactly how it is in the paper pack. The added title is a nice touch!
Over the next week or so, i will be showcasing the program books, mixed with our cartridges. Many scrapbooking layouts!!
If your in YYC (Calgary) i am looking for 4 to 5 people to join my monthly scrapbooking club. Contact me for details!

Im in LOVE with this Blogger's Cards.

I have always been a fan of Halloween and this year i have stepped back from it and get Christmas going super early. I came across this post back in August when all the new goodies came out. I contacted the owner to ask for permission to post this on her behalf.

This post has been already published but she has been so kind to let me share this amazing project with you.

With out further ado here is the post, You will have to check out the rest of the post on Mischelle's blog, the link is found below or on the side, just click on the card.

When I saw this card (LEFT) from Donna at DAT's My Style ... I was inspired to pull out my Frightfully Fun Stamp Set and start getting it inky.

I now have handfuls of little pieces colored and cut ... just waiting to be mounted on a card.

In the meantime ... I kept coloring.  And I thought it would be fun to incorporate my
 Sweet As Sugar Hostess Stamp Set and do something a little freaky ... which is so me!  {smiles}

I have to admit ...  this was SO.MUCH.FUN!  I LOVED coloring these images with my Twin Touch Markers!
I did use my Glacier Ink Pad and a sponge dauber to add a hint of color around my jars of skulls.
I also used my Graphite Pencil and a stump to drop some color in under the jars and ground them.

Haunted BOO!

And now we have CREEPY, EERY, haunted boo!
This was just as much FUN to color as Happy Boo!
The middle jar and single skull are also cut out and popped up.

So one of my FAVORITE new things is this Silver Washi Tape from CTMH.  I LOVE IT!
It has a GORGEOUS shimmer and shine to it ... so classy and elegant and frightfully fun!
OH!  And Liquid Glass ... it's as important as the air I breathe ... LOL!

For this card I used some of my Copic Grays ... I wanted a variety of gray tones.
I also used my W1 Gray to go over the back jars to bring down the green tone and make them
appear farther back.  I have a very heavy hand so I decided to start with light tones!

The cob webs I just sketched in randomly.
I also used my CTMH Whisper Ink Pad and sponge dauber to color all around this image.
This is an AWESOME ink pad that I will be using for many upcoming projects!

TIP:  I also relied heavily on my colorless blender to wash out my Pastel Green
and some of my Gray areas!

I highlighted areas with my Twin Touch Warm Grey 7 after I finished coloring.

I hope you enjoy my two takes on this design!
And for those visual folks, like me, the masking how to is below!

To find out how this is done, please visit the very talented Mischelle Smith's Blog for more info, pictures and instructions!!

Guest Poster! Chelsey Vorosmarty

Happy Monday! Today I am super duper excited to open up my blog to a guest poster. From projects to organizing and tips. You will find it all right here. I am so proud to have my first guest poster to be Chelesy. This outstanding Sister consultant is incredible at everything she creates and teaches. Chelsey has been crafting up a storm in Alberta and has created very unique projects and her classes are not to be missed....
_____________________________________________________

Hello everyone, I'm so excited that Chantal asked me to share on her blog today. My name is Chelsey Vorosmarty and I run Personal Touch Scrapbooking. I'm also a fellow Close to my Heart consultant, so today I'm going to share a very exciting new product.

You may have seen or heard CTMH has a new Cricut cartridge that just became available called Artfully Sent. This cartridge contains 700 images which include 250 completed cards in a variety of styles (pop up, build a scene, sentiment/border, sleeve and pocket cards), envelopes/liners and a beautiful alphabet. If that wasn't enough the collection also includes 3 versatile stamp sets including an alphabet set that matches the new Cricut font, a sentiment set (LOVE this one) and some cute frames. To get you started cutting some cards there is also a full pack of White Daisy cardstock.

Of course you can always use the sentiments and images on the cartridge for any of your projects whether they are cards or not. The pocket cards work great for Picture My Life and Project Life style scrapping or they can be incorporated into traditional style pages and mini albums. However, everything is linked in the cartridge to create cards so if you want to cut something at a specific size that doesn't coordinate with the card, make sure to turn on the real dial size function.

Here are a few of the cards I have created with the new cartridge:

4

With a little bit of paper and a few minutes you can create stunning cards for any occasion. Many of the cards are 5”x7” or 4.25”x 5.5” so they are easy sizes to find envelopes for if you prefer not to cut your own on the Cricut.
